Urgent care addresses medical problems that need prompt veterinary attention but are not immediately life-threatening. These issues shouldn't wait for the next routine appointment, yet don't rise to the level of an emergency hospital visit. Some examples could include vomiting or diarrhea, ear or skin infections, some eye conditions, or unexpected discomfort. Please call us if your pet is experiencing any of the symptoms below so we can best advise on next steps.
Emergency Care
Seek emergency care right away if your pet's symptoms suggest a life-threatening condition or rapidly worsening illness. These include:
- Trouble breathing
- Collapse, unresponsiveness, or inability to stand
- Seizures
- Significant bleeding or major trauma
- Suspected toxin ingestion
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea with weakness
- A swollen, painful abdomen
- Inability to urinate (especially male cats)
